Erstwhile Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro could be thrown into the labour market again following Zamalek’s exit from the CAF Confederation Cup. The Egyptian club were sent packing from the competition at the quarter-final stage by South Africa’s Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch defeated the defending champions 1-0 on aggregate to book a place in the semi-finals.
After a goalless draw in the quarter-final first leg contest, Sihle Nduli scored the only goal in Cairo to hand Stellenbosch a stunning victory. Peseiro took charge of Zamalek February, 2025. Zamalek have won five, drawn six and lost two of their 13 games across all competitions under his tutelage.
