Ex-soldier kills wife, chops & boils body parts in Hyderabad

A retired soldier, working as a security guard in Telangana, allegedly killed his wife, chopped her body into pieces, boiled them, and ground the bones before disposing of the remains in Meerpet lake. Police are yet to find the remains after the suspect confessed to the crime following a missing report filed by the victim's family.

Ex-soldier kills wife, chops & boils body parts in Hyderabad HYDERABAD: A retired soldier employed as a security guard in a defence establishment in Telangana allegedly killed his wife on Jan 15 and tried to cover up the crime by chopping the body into pieces, boiling them in a pressure cooker and using a pestle to grind the bones before dumping the remains in Meerpet lake. Victim Puttavenkata Madhavi (35) was reported missing on Jan 18 after her family questioned suspect Gurumurthy about her whereabouts. He has said she left home in a huff following an argument a couple of days earlier.

Gurumurthy reportedly confessed to the murder at the police station. Till late Wednesday, police hadn’t traced the victim’s remains in the lake into which Gurumurthy claimed to have thrown the bag with crushed body parts. A dog squad has been deployed, police said.
