Waghorn remained at Derby for three years, playing a part in their play-off push in the 2018-19 campaign and helping keep them in the Championship as the club's fortunes began to spiral in 2020-21. And he found the net seven times in 24 appearances as they gained automatic promotion. Waghorn retired this year after a short stint with Northampton Town. But the 35-year-old is understood to have came out of retirement to help his old team.
