Our popular go-to messaging platform, WhatsApp has added yet another feature called 'Message Drafts,' that aims to help users easily find and finish their incomplete messages. Available to all users on both iOS and Android, this latest update is designed to save time and reduce the hassle of searching for half-written messages. The Meta-owned platform announced on Thursday, November 14.

With this new update in the coming days, any unfinished message will automatically receive a 'Draft' label and appear at the top of the chat list. “Whether you get interrupted or distracted while typing or simply forget to send a message, this feature helps you save time and effort, allowing you to find and get back to those messages quickly,” the company said in a statement. The Message Drafts feature can be a real-time-saver, as it lets you easily pick up right where you left off.

Imagine how users will no longer need to scroll through your chat history or worry about accidentally forgetting an important message. Pretty convenient, right? “We all need this,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg remarked while announcing the feature on his WhatsApp Channel. Alongside Message Drafts, WhatsApp is working on other privacy-focused updates.

Users will soon be able to connect with other people using usernames instead of phone numbers, giving an extra layer of privacy. This way, you can now chat without sharing your phone number! Additionally, WhatsApp is planning to expand its contact management tools, particularly on WhatsApp Web. Soon, users will be able to add and manage contacts directly from their computer, thereby keeping work and personal contacts separate if they prefer.

With over 500 million monthly active users, India counts as WhatsApp’s largest market. The platform has banned over 12 million accounts in the country between January to September 2024, with an overall total of 65 million account bans..
