The 2024–25 NBA season isn’t over yet, but Joel Embiid is looking forward to summer training. The Philadelphia 76ers player has struggled to remain healthy and may need knee surgery in the offseason. The tale began when ESPN’s Lisa Salters interviewed the center over Embiid’s potential surgery.
Embiid is aware of this and wants to take advantage of the summer by giving his body enough time to heal completely. Former NBA players Chandler Parsons and Danny Green, along with Michelle Beadle , offered their opinions on the subject on Monday. In their candid evaluation, the three appeared on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back.
” Beadle knows the frustration the Sixers organization and fans are experiencing with Embiid. “You’re four months and counting into a recovery that could have already been underway,” Beadle said. “He’s telling you, he’s just said out loud, ‘I’m going to have to have surgery.
’ If you’re a Sixers fan, I feel for you. This has got to be beyond frustrating.” Parsons chimed in but focused more on the state of the team.
“They’re not ready to throw in the towel when they have so much talent on the roster,” Parsons said. “The one young dude they have that came out of nowhere is gonna be runaway Rookie of the Year, Jared McCain . He goes down with an injury.

Due to injuries, he spent the first two years of his career on the bench.
But because of the team’s perseverance, he has triumphed and become a celebrity. But, since he still struggles to be available consistently this season, it has returned to haunt the organization. Green, his former colleague, believes Philly should make an effort to assemble a strong team around the star and offer the 2023 MVP one more opportunity to compete for a title.
The three-time champion suggested the Sixers should convince Embiid to sit out the rest of the season to address his concerns regarding his knee and concentrate on being healthy for the next campaign..
