Expect extreme temperatures in 5 areas in the Philippines

PAGASA has issued a weather advisory, warning of scorching temperatures in several areas, while parts of the country will experience rain showers and thunderstorms.According to the weather bureau, five areas will see a heat index peaking at 43°C, which falls under the danger category. This means the risk of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or even heatstroke.

These areas include:Sangley Point, Cavite – 43°CPuerto Princesa City, Palawan – 43°CVirac, Catanduanes – 43°CDumangas, Iloilo – 43°CLa Granja, La Carlota, Negros Occidental – 43°CMeanwhile, Metro Manila will experience a heat index of 40°C, particularly in Pasay City (NAIA) and Quezon City (PAGASA Science Garden).Despite the high temperatures, some parts of the country will experience rain. These areas are in Northern Luzon (Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao), and the Southern provinces (Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi).
