Esther Adesina, mother of former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Togo, Debo Adesina, has passed away. A statement released on Thursday announced that Adesina, who was in her 90s, died on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. “Deaconess Esther Taiwo Ejide Adesina has died.
She passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, well into her 90s,” the statement read. ” It also praised her as “a gifted and self-taught intellectual with an unparalleled love for education and a lover of God with an undiluted vision of eternity.” A long-time deaconess of the Baptist Church, Adesina was said to have left behind “a huge legacy of compassion, righteousness, and hard work.” Among her children is Debo, a former ambassador and past Editor-in-Chief/Chief Operating Officer of The Guardian newspapers.
