Ex- star Sergio Romero was filmed fighting his own fans on Saturday evening. Romero, 37, was between the sticks for Boca Juniors for their bitter clash with local river River Plate. Milton Giménez thought he had nicked a late equaliser - but VAR intervened, deeming there had been a handball in the build-up to the goal.

And the decision sparked mayhem at La Bombonera, with Boca even reduced to 10 men in the ensuing minutes. When the full-time whistle sounded, the stadium was a cauldron of fury, as Romero even jumped into the stands to confront one fan. "He cursed me so hard that he just found me. I was leaving and I lost my mind and I went back to look for him. "I offer my apologies to the fan who insulted me because it is his right.
