EXCLUSIVE: Bobby Deol's Soldier, Ajay Devgn's Kachche Dhaage, Salman Khan's Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Ranbir Kapoor’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Bipasha Basu’s Raaz to be re-released in November; Ramesh Taurani SPILLS the beans

Ramesh Taurani has completed almost 30 years in the film industry as a film producer. Earlier this year, in February, he completed 27 years as a full-fledged producer. His first film, which was solely produced by Tips Films, was Auzaar (1997), starring Salman Khan, Sanjay Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty. This is the season of re-releases and while talking about his journey exclusively with Bollywood Hungama, we also asked Ramesh Taurani about whether he’d like to jump on this bandwagon.We particularly asked him if he’d like to re-release Soldier (1998), since its lead star Bobby Deol is on a different high right now. Ramesh Taurani confirmed that the plan is in effect. He said, “We are going to re-release some of our films like Soldier, Kachche Dhaage (1999), Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1999), Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2008), Raaz (2002) etc. from next month (November).”Kachche Dhaage starred Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan while Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai featured Salman Khan and Twinkle Khanna. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, meanwhile, starred Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif while Raaz had Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu feature in lead roles.When asked why are re-releases working, Ramesh Taurani explained, “That’s because there are limited new films up for release. Also, people want a community experience when they watch a film. How many films will you watch at home? You will go out someday. Cinema is the best form of entertainment for most people.”Talking about Soldier, one can’t help but ask about Soldier 2, which he has confirmed that he’s working on. Ramesh Taurani replied, “The scripting is going on. We need to respect the Soldier brand and hence, we need a strong script for the sequel.”In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, writer Shiraz Ahmed revealed that Race 4’s shoot begins in January 2025. The producer, however, clarified, “That’s not true. It won’t go on floors before May or June 2025. At present, we are working on the dialogues.” But he assured that “Saif Ali Khan is definitely there in the film.” The dashing actor was seen in Race (2008) as well Race 2 (2013). Race 3 (2018) had Salman Khan in the lead role.The first two films of Race were directed by Abbas-Mustan. When asked if they, like Saif Ali Khan, will return to the franchise and direct Race 4, Ramesh Taurani replied, “We haven’t decided yet. Once the script is done, we’ll take a call on who should direct it.”Another exciting film in his kitty is Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan and starring his son Varun Dhawan. He said, “It’s on track. We’ll shoot in November for 20 days. It’ll be released on October 2, 2025, as scheduled.”What about reports that besides Mrunal Thakur, the film also stars Sreeleela? Ramesh Taurani signed off by saying, “No, she’s not.”
