The beach itself is a rugged three-mile stretch with a stunning set of sand dunes at the end. It makes the perfect place for taking a walk all year round, but the beach really shines in the summer. Not only does it offer a great place to take a stroll, but it’s also ideal for swimming or watersports.
It’s a popular spot among surfers and windsurfers, and there’s even a shop on site selling all you need to take part. And they offer lessons as well as equipment rentals, so even beginners can try their hand at watersports. But the main attraction of Tramore is not just the beach, but the surrounding area.
Not far from the sand is Tramore Amusement and Leisure Park, an outdoor carnival offering something for all the family. For little ones, it offers teacups and mini motorbikes to ride on. But for thrill seekers, the amusement park is home to the dizzying Waltzers, a ghost train, and rides that defy gravity.
There are also bungee jumping stations and trampolines where even complete beginners can give it a go. And there are multiple stalls and games with prizes for visitors to try their luck at. And those who have visited before have given the amusement park high praise on Tripadvisor.
One visitor said: “Excellent family day out.”“Great choice for all ages. Staff are brilliant, very helpful and very friendly.
”“Would highly recommend.”The park is open at 1 p.m.
during the Easter holidays but opens fully in June. Also in Tramore is the indoor water park SplashWorld, which is ideal for swimming on colder days. The water park boasts a massive wave pool as well as two water slides which go outside of the building.
And for those who want to relax, there are designated swimming lanes for a leisurely swim. And after a long day swimming or strolling the beach, Tramore has some great food options available. It’s home to everything from fine dining on the waterfront to cosy pubs with hearty meals.
And there are plenty of dessert options available, with ice cream vans and doughnut shops lining the area. facebookThe amusement park is home to some thrill seeking rides[/caption]GettyThe area is gorgeous in the summer[/caption]AlamyTramore is known for great swimming and watersports[/caption].
