Injuries are a part of the game of football and can affect every team at any moment. Just ask the two-time reigning world champion Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs lost running back Isiah Pacheco to a broken fibula in Week 2 against the Bengals, and they're looking at a familiar face to fill in.

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports It's a familiar face to both the Chiefs and Cleveland Browns fans as Kareem Hunt has been signed to the practice squad in Kansas City. Hunt began his career with the Chiefs as the No. 86 overall pick in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He joined the Browns on a one-year deal after being waived by the Chiefs after the 2018 season. The Toledo product remained in Cleveland through the 2023 season but was not retained after his contract expired in the offseason. Now, because of the injury to Pacheco, Hunt returns to where it all began in Kansas City.

Through 91 games across seven seasons split between the Chiefs and Browns , Hunt has amassed 4,436 yards on 1,030 carries for 40 touchdowns while posting a career average of 4.3 yards per carry. In 2023, Hunt scored at least one touchdown per game - and six total - from Weeks 6 - 10 despite being out-touched by Jerome Ford. Hunt finished the year with 135 carries for 411 yards a nine touchdowns in 15 games of service, and scored one rushing and one receiving touchdown in the Browns' Wild Card loss to the Houston Texans.
