On Sunday afternoon the Kansas City Chiefs entered their divisional showdown against the Denver Broncos with a perfect 8-0 record. For much of the afternoon, though, it looked like the Chiefs would be taking their first loss of the season. Despite a strong performance from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 266 yards and a touchdown and the quality play of tight end Travis Kelce, who racked up eight receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown it seemed like Kansas City's zero in the loss column would be changing.
We say "looked like" and "seemed like" because the Chiefs somehow found a way to win on Sunday - despite facing nearly impossible odds at the end of the game. Denver lined up for the game-winning field goal, but the 35-yard field goal attempt from Broncos kicker Will Lutz was blocked by Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna. IT'S BLOCKED! @CHIEFS WIN!
