Sleepmaxxing – a portmanteau of sleep and maximising – is a broad term for any tip, trick or method that aims to ameliorate your 40 winks. Some of the tips are, on the surface, innocuous and helpful – like dropping the temperature of your room, avoiding liquids for an hour before bed – while others are, at best, eyebrow-raising, and at worst, according to experts, potentially detrimental to one’s health.
