The outlet reported on (17 September) that the 59-year-old is considering reviving his interest in the Toffees having previously entered a period of exclusivity with Farhad Moshiri. Talks previously ended due to concerns around the Blues’ dept, but Everton have remained hopeful that Friedkin’s interest had been put on ice rather than completely ended. Everton are yet to comment on the recent developments at Goodison Park and it is still unclear whether or not the Roma owner is preparing an official approach or just watching on from a distance.

Ever since Friedkins’ deal to purchase the controlling stake in the Toffees initially collapsed, there have been suggestions from some that the 59-year-old [ , 25 July]. While the noises from the Roma owner suggested that his interest in the Blues had ended completely, that was never likely to be the case, especially given the fact that he is owed money by the Toffees. It still isn’t clear whether or not Friedkin will genuinely make an official bid , but the ideal outcome for Everton is to have several buyers competing with one another.



If more parties are interested in buying the Blues, they could well be willing to pay more money and on paper that should make Moshiri more inclined to accept an offer rather than beat about the bush for longer. Hopefully, a permanent solution will be found sooner rather than later so all the talk of panic around Goodison Park can finally be put to bed once and for all. This saga has run on longer than anyone at Everton ever wanted it to and it is only harming the club off and on the pitch.
