The Analyst’s (16 September) that the Toffees are likely to finish 17th this season after they threw away a two-goal lead to be . Sean Dyche’s side have been given a genuine chance of finishing in the relegation zone however, with the supercomputer’s prediction suggesting there is a 39.33 per cent chance they will end up in the Championship.

The Blues therefore have a 61.67 per cent chance of avoiding the drop, with the newly promoted trio of Leicester City, Southampton and Ipswich remaining the most likely to go down. While the supercomputer’s prediction suggests that the Toffees will still narrowly find a way to avoid relegation, the chance of them dropping into the second tier only appears to be going up with each passing week.

Dyche’s side remain pointless in the Premier League this term, but the manner in which they have lost games has arguably been even more worrying as they are looking far too easy to break down, particularly late on in matches. Even the most optimistic of Toffees supporters wouldn’t have been feeling confident with the two-goal lead at Villa Park. It always felt as though Emery’s side could take back complete control in an instant if they got a foothold in the game.

There is still plenty of football to be played and Dyche has managed to turn this sort of poor form around in the past, but pressure is only going to mount on the Englishman as that chance of relegation continues to grow. It will be interesting to see just how bleak the outlook has to be . Surely Dyche’s time will run out soon if he doesn’t get back to winning was quickly.
