The Albanian forward looked set to join Ipswich Town on loan in the summer but the Toffees swooped in at the last second to secure a £30million loan-to-buy deal [ ]. The forward is yet to make an appearance for the Goodison Park outfit due to injury but is set to return in the coming weeks. It is understood that with Calvert-Lewin’s contract expiring in the summer, Broja could be the long-term option that the Blues need in front of goal if that pre-agreed £30million option-to-buy clause is triggered.
Everton have been solid at the back in recent weeks, conceding . The main issue for the Blues is a lack of goals, they have only scored in two of their last six matches in the league. This is not a new problem as for a considerable while and Beto has only been trusted with cameos from the bench.
Once Broja returns to full fitness he should provide the Toffees with a different option and could thrive without the pressure of playing at a club like Chelsea, where expectation is much higher. He had a successful spell on loan at Southampton during the 2021-22 season, scoring six goals in 32 appearances but has only scored two in 26 games in his time at Chelsea and did not score a single goal in eight matches for Fulham last campaign. However, there is still plenty of time for him to turn it around and if he can fulfill his potential in the time he has left at Goodison Park, he might be the man to lead the club into the new era with the Friedkin Group at the helm.
Everton return to action on Saturday [23 November] with a home match against Brentford which Broja will miss as he steps up his match fitness with the under-21 team. In other Everton news, ..
