CHENNAI: Event tech start-up Ticket9 has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from actress-director couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan . The startup plans to use the investment to strengthen its tech infrastructure and expand its market reach . Ticket9 is onboarding events across India and expanding into international markets, including Dubai, to offer its platform for event management and audience engagement.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are expected to leverage their brand value by endorsing the company on their social media platforms. This will provide Ticket9 with a competitive edge in the entertainment and event management space, according to a company statement. “With their support, we are set to expand both our technology and market reach, creating more impactful and seamless experiences for event organizers and attendees alike,” said Yazhini Shanmugam, founder and CEO of Ticket9.

The SaaS platform focuses on the creation, management, promotion, and monetization of events, currently targeting live events. Ticket9 also plans to expand into the movie ticketing sector. Previously, the startup raised $200,000 in a pre-seed round from notable investors.
