Evelyn H. Furness OBITUARY Evelyn H. Furness, 99, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Charles W.

Furness, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. She was born in Willington, CT, daughter of the late John and Mary (Liska) Hipsky. Evelyn retired from the University of Connecticut having worked in food service.



She was a member and past president of V.F.W.

Post No. 9990 of Stafford Ladies Auxiliary, member and past president of the former Stafford Golden Age Club, and member of the Stafford Senior Center. Evelyn is survived by her six children, Darlene Furness (Brian Ingalls), Terry Furness, Andrew Furness (Marliese), Trudy Zalewa (Patrick Ehler), James Furness (former wife Pam), and Cheryl Ceniglio (Peter); seven grandchildren, Deanna (Jorge), Scott (Elizabeth), Elissa (Edward), Stephanie (David), James, Pierce, and Anthony (Mellie); four great grandchildren, Jalisa (Adam), Justin, Malachi, and Finn; five great, great grandchildren, Mason, Malachi, Jr.

, Esther, Lillian, and Abel; five siblings, Carolyn Burrell (Richard), Nancy Gately (John), Roseanne Power, Donald Hipsky, and Gay Huff; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two daughters-in-law, Marisa Fleming and Lynne Aveline; granddaughter, Tonya Marie Ray; three brothers, John, Andrew, and Joseph; two sisters, Joan and Marlene; and two step mothers, Vilma Rusnuk and Susan Zapka. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 9:00–11:00 A.

M., with a funeral service to take place at 11:00 A.M.
