April 6, 1938 — October 14, 2024 HAMPTON — Eunice Hansen, 86, of Hampton, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at Memorial Community Care after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m.

Saturday, October 19, 2024, at United Lutheran Church in Hampton. The Rev. Ricardo Riqueza will officiate.



Inurnment will be in the United Lutheran Cemetery. No visitation is planned. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.

com . Eunice Evonne Hansen, the daughter of Everett and Pauline (Petersen) Forsberg, was born in Holdrege, Nebraska, on April 6, 1938, and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska, on October 14, 2024, at the age of 86. Eunice grew up in Loomis.

Her father passed away when she was 14 and the family moved into Holdrege. She graduated from Holdrege High School then attended Kearney State College for a year, where she met Larry. On July 20, 1958, she was united in marriage to Larry Hansen.

They had two children, Mitch and Sherry. Eunice did the bookwork for Hampton Public Schools from home, while raising their children, and then worked as the administrative aide for the Hampton Schools Superintendent for 38 years before she retired. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and her sorority.

Eunice and Larry liked to golf. They golfed in men’s, women’s and couple leagues, along with playing each time they went on vacation. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Roger Forsberg.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Larry Hansen, of Hampton; a son, Mitch Hansen, of Grand Island; a daughter, Sherry (Michael) Peters, of St. Libory; seven grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Houser, Jason Hansen, Michaela Peters, Ben (Shalee) Peters, Allison (Joe) Troester, Caitlin (Caleb) Kuhfahl and Sam (Mikayla) Peters; and 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, June (Gary) Johnson, of Holdrege; and other relatives and friends.
