The time has come for the best pub, restaurant, cafe and takeaway in Essex to receive their titles. Here at EssexLive, we have been running the EssexEats Awards for 2024 and the results are now in. For this year's awards we asked EssexLive readers to nominate their favourite Essex independent businesses.
We asked for nominations in the categories of best restaurant, best pub, best cafe and best takeaway. After receiving hundreds of nominations we whittled the list down to the finalists, and have contacted all of them and published profiles showing off their best dishes, unique qualities and why they felt they should win. We've received thousands of votes and can now reveal the four winners.

Thanks to all the businesses who spoke to our team while the votes were open for the profile pieces. In some cases, the results were really close and there was great support for all the finalists.

We know how hard teams work to curate menus, serve customers and keep us fed and we will be continuing to share reviews where we have visited some of the great places in the county.
