ERL boosts security measures after cable theft disruption

KUALA LUMPUR: Express Rail Link (ERL) will further boost security measures of the affected areas following the recent incidents of cable theft.

KUALA LUMPUR: Express Rail Link (ERL) will further boost security measures of the affected areas following the recent incidents of cable theft. The incidents had caused a disruption in signalling and affected KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit services.As of 4pm, KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit trains have resumed services.

"Following the recent cable theft incidents, we have enhanced our security efforts. "They include deploying additional personnel to hotspots, as well as boosting patrol frequency and surveillance around critical infrastructure. "ERL is working closely with relevant authorities to investigate the recent incidents and implement preventative measures.



"ERL added that it deeply regrets the inconvenience caused by unforeseen circumstances. During the service disruption, it provided complimentary shuttle bus services to assist passengers with their journeys. It also rolled out a shuttle bus service operating between Salak Tinggi, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya stations.

The buses run every 20 minutes, starting at 1pm daily, and will continue operating until train services are fully restored. Pick-up and drop-off points have been established at the stations. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd.
