Thursday night's AFC North showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns turned into one of the best games of the season - but not because of the play on the field. The night started out with wintry conditions as both teams took the field to flurries and winds around 20 miles per hour. However, the hard stuff didn't come down for quite a while.
Late in the third quarter as the Steelers drove down the field to cut Cleveland's lead to 10-6 heavy snow started falling. Pittsburgh's drive started with flurries, but by the time Chris Boswell lined up for a short field goal attempt the entire field was covered in snow. It created an incredible scene, one that football fans used as an attempt to stop the Browns from building a dome .
Even veteran sideline reporter Erin Andrews had to chime in about the game. Kyle Terada-Imagn Images Watching as the AFC North foes battled on a field lost in the snow, Andrews admitted she would "LOVE" to work a game in near blizzard conditions like this. "This is so awesome.
I would LOVE to work a game like this," Andrews said on social media Thursday night. This is so awesome. I would LOVE to work a game like this Unfortunately for Andrews she's just a few days too late to Green Bay, Wisconsin - where she'll be on the call with play-by-play man Kevin Burkardt and color analyst Tom Brady.
Lambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers, was hit with snow earlier this morning, but wintry conditions are not expected for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Temperatures will be in the low 40s at kickoff, but no snow is in the forecast. Sorry, Erin.
