"We did a lot of traps and counters with our running game," Episcopal coach Travis Bourgeois said. "We noticed their defense was rotating to our motion. We know a lot of defenses concentrate on stopping Chauvin, so we spread the ball around.

We executed really well in the first half. We have 19 seniors and want to get better every week. We start district next week.

East Feliciana is coming to town, and we've got to get ready to defend our turf." "We just couldn't slow down Episcopal's running game," Country Day coach Christopher Chetta said. "Offensively we couldn't do anything tonight.

We needed to run the ball to have a chance. Episcopal is a good team. We dressed out just 31 kids tonight.

We need to learn from this and get better." Country Day was limited to four first downs and 104 yards of total offense. The Cajuns did get a 42-yard field goal from Noah Kaplan with 9:50 left in the second quarter that cut the Knights' lead to 14-3.

Chauvin rushed twice for 3 and 25 yards for a 7-0 lead with 4:59 left in the first quarter. Country Day didn't initially field the ensuing the kickoff but fell on the ball at the 3-yard line. The Cajuns were held to no gain on three plays and were forced to punt.
