The FNCS Global Championship just ended with a victory by Peterbot and Pollo. The duo won a lion’s share of the $2 million prize pool, taking home $200,000 each. While this reward is amazing, the next one will be even bigger.

Epic Games will quadruple the prize pool for the FNCS in 2025, allowing competitors to win $8 million combined. Besides the improved prize pool, the Fortnite developer revealed a few more details, such as the team size and the mechanics. If you’re interested in the future of Fortnite’s competitive tournaments, here’s everything you need to know.

Fortnite players will fight for $8 million in 2025 Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) had a duo format in 2024. It culminated with the FNCS Global Championship that was held on September 7 and 8. In the end, Peterbot and Pollo beat the competition, winning $400,000 in total.

However, these two incredible players will have to find another teammate in 2025, as the FNCS will be played in a Trios format. On top of this, Epic Games will release a series of tournaments that will test the Siphon mechanic. Considering how popular Siphon is in competitive playlists, it’s no surprise that the game creator wants to bring it back.

It appears that Epic will test different versions of this mechanic, and then pick the best one to use in the end. Most importantly, Epic revealed the prize pool for the upcoming Fortnite championship. Competitive players will fight for their share of $8 million next year, which is impressive.

While this is still a far cry from the World Cup’s prize pool of $30 million, it’s certainly a step in the right direction. This is not surprising, though, as Epic increased the prizes of cash cups with the release of Season 4. The prizing distribution is still unknown, but we expect the top Trio to win around $1 million.

Since we are still a few more away from 2025, we will likely get more information from Epic later this year..
