Vehari - Illegal plastic bags seized in crackdown by Environment Department here Tibba Sultan Pur. The Assistant Director of the Environmental Protection Department Vehari, Ms Qurat-ul-Ain, accompanied by Inspector Muhammad Javed, conducted inspections at various shops in Tibba Sultanpur and confiscated 63 kilogrammes of banned plastic bags. Ms Qurat-ul-Ain stated that the Government of Punjab has imposed a complete ban on the manufacturing, sale, and use of prohibited plastic bags.
A strict crackdown is currently underway to enforce this regulation. She urged all individuals involved in the plastic trade to refrain from producing, selling, or using the banned material, warning that violations will lead to business closures, heavy fines, and confiscation of illegal stock. Highlighting the progress of the campaign, the assistant director revealed that so far, the department has seized over 4,000 kilogrammes of illegal plastic bags worth millions of rupees from various vendors.
