Entry permit application system not working

COME Oct 1, all Singaporean cars coming into Malaysia via the two links into Johor must have the Malaysia VEP (Vehicle Entry Permit) RFID tag installed. And that’s fine, we all have to respect the rules of the countries we visit. However, judging by my experience in applying for the tag, the system (contracted out to a private company, I believe) is in an utter mess.

I don’t believe it is ready at all. So come Oct 1, many Singaporeans who want to drive into Johor to shop, golf, eat, holiday, etc, won’t be able to do so – which can’t possibly be good for the economy..
