Former England captain Michael Vaughan spoke about a heated topic around IPL 2025 mega auction. The auction are scheduled to be held November 24 and 25 in Saudi Arabia, which directly overlaps the first Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) between India and Australia. The IPL auction will overlap the important third and fourth days of the opening Test of the BGT.
Michael criticised the BCCI for making such a schedule that overlaps the dates of these two events, especially considering the involvement of Indian players in both the events. Though the auctions are set to begin after the end of the day’s play, Michael is concerned that it might cause potential distractions for the players, especially those who are highly-sought after by the franchises. Vaughan suggested that the IPL 2025 mega auctions could have been rescheduled to be held after the Test in Perth but before the Adelaide Test.
