Do you remember Jorge Rey, the young meteorologist who famously predicted Filomena’s massive snowfall? Well, he’s back with another forecast, just in time for the December holidays, and he’s predicting what we can expect all the way through to the end of the year. From now until December 1, a associated with will bring overcast skies and widespread rain to the northwest of the peninsula, and the Pyrenees, where snowfall is likely above 2,000 metres.

In the rest of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, there will be intermittent cloud cover and the possibility of isolated showers. Temperatures will drop significantly in the northwest and the Canary Islands, while rising in the southeast and the Balearic Islands, with weak frosts expected in higher areas of the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian Mountains. The cold spell left by Bert will give way to much warmer-than-usual temperatures. Don’t get too excited about snow just yet, though; there’s none in the forecast until at least December 23. Still, there’s a good chance we’ll see a white Christmas in the usual spots of Spain.

Overall, , with no big storms or freezing weather in sight until Epiphany, when winter is finally expected to kick in. This is good news for those who enjoy milder weather, but disappointing for fans of cold conditions. For now, winter clothing can remain tucked away in the wardrobe.
