Ranveer Allahbadia asked Emraan Hashmi about nepotism, and whether Mahesh Bhatt’s extensive career played a role in forwarding his daughter Alia Bhatt’s acting career. Emraan Hashmi is all praise for his cousin Alia Bhatt! In a recent conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, he was asked about nepotism and whether he feels Mahesh Bhatt’s extensive career, in some way, has benefitted Alia’s career today. Emraan acknowledged that the previous generation often acts as a stepping stone for the next.
Having said that, he made it clear that Alia is a fantastic actor, and a ‘star in her own right’. The ‘Awarapan’ actor said that Alia has achieved what she has, through her own talent and hard work. On The Ranveer Show, Emraan Hashmi was asked to explain Mahesh Bhatt’s role behind Alia Bhatt’s success, from his perspective.
Emraan replied, “It has always been the past generation facilitating and giving that to the next generation. The next generation is that little bit better than you. it also comes because that last generation was like a stepping stone.
Aapko jo advice milti hai, worldview milta hai aapke father se, ya ancestor se, it helps you kind of get that stepping stone and understand the profession better. Had it been aapne pehla kadam rakha tha, without a certain background of the film..
.not that people don’t become successful that way. There are outsiders who have no backing of the film industry, and have become super successful.
" He further added, “But I’m sure unki jo experiences rahi hain, he has been there to facilitate and also give her some advice from his place. But she (Alia) is a star in her own right. Unhone jo kuchh kiya hai, apne balboote pe kiya hai.
(Whatever she has achieved, she has done it on her own merit). Ultimately, it’s a very lonely journey of being an actor. Aapko khud jaake wahaa perform karna padta hai.
(You have to go out there and perform yourself). It’s not that anything Bhatt sahab can do in that regard." Emraan Hashmi then recalled that Alia Bhatt was very nervous about her first shot.
“She had actually come to the office, and she was very frightened because wo apna pehla shot dene waali thi," said Emraan. He recalled her asking him for advice. “She was going into her first shot the next day so she was asking me for advice and stuff.
She didn’t need it, she is a fantastic actor in her own right," said Emraan. How Is Emraan Hashmi Related To Alia Bhatt? Emraan’s paternal grandmother, Meherbano Mohammad Ali (popularly known as Purnima Das Verma), was the sister of Shirin Mohammad Ali, mother to renowned filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. Since Alia Bhatt is Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter, this makes her Emraan Hashmi’s cousin.
