Emmerdale fans are convinced that Brenda Walker will face an off-screen death following her recent departure from the show. The ITV soap has recently been setting the stage for Brenda's exit, in light of actor Lesley Dunlop announcing her departure after 17 years. Viewers then learned about Brenda's surprise victory in a magazine contest, securing her a three-month cruise around the globe.
Brenda was initially reluctant to leave behind her ex-partner Eric Pollard in the village. Yet after considerable encouragement, she opted to embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey alongside Cathy Hope, her former stepdaughter. Their departure from the Dales occurred last week amidst goodbyes from Kerry Wyatt, Nicola King, and Bob Hope as they set off in a taxi, reports Leeds Live .
"I'll see you all really soon," Brenda said as Eric arrived just in time to say goodbye. "I don't [do goodbyes]. This is just au revoir," Eric poignantly said, before the two shared a parting kiss.
During Monday's (April 7) episode, loneliness had already set in for Eric after Brenda's departure, and he voiced concerns to Bob that she might never return to the Dales. "How's things at your place?" Bob enquired, to which Eric grimly responded, "Place? It is like a morgue with no Brenda." Tracy Robinson tried to offer comfort, saying: "Well, three months will fly by," though Bob and Eric seemed unconvinced.
This has prompted Emmerdale viewers to speculate that Brenda may suffer a tragic death during her cruise, with numerous fans taking to social media to share their theories. One fan speculated on a Facebook page: "I have a theory that Brenda won't come back from the cruise. Either goes missing, falls overboard or dies.
" Another chimed in, saying: "I was thinking that because of how touching her leaving was," while a third commented: "I hope not as it will really affect Cathy as that will be another loved one dead while she was there." On the other hand, some viewers believe Brenda might opt for a new life with her granddaughter Molly in Canada after the cruise. One person suggested: "I think she will stay in Canada with her granddaughter as she said she was going to visit them," while another fan confidently stated: "She will go to live in Canada.
