Emmerdale fans 'work out' whose body is dumped in flashforward – and it's not Nate

Emmerdale viewers think the body that was shown being dumped in a flashforward earlier this year could prove another murder is on the way, amid the deaths of Nate Robinson and Anthony Fox

There's an ongoing mystery about a dead body being dumped in water in the village on Emmerdale that will soon be explained. But after the news that Nate Robinson's body will soon be found , and amid speculation John Sugden is hiding the truth about where Anthony Fox is buried , a new theory suggests another murder is on the way - and John could be the killer. Fans considered the fact that five flashforwards were aired in December, teasing glimpses of the future.

Two of those scenes have now played out in real-time, with three more to go. Some fans immediately guessed the bodybag was Nate being dumped in the lake after his secret murder, with the initial theory being it was Anthony. With Anthony seemingly buried underground this may have been ruled out, unless John is lying as fans say.

But fans of the ITV soap are more concerned with the fact they're meant to be flashforwards and not flashbacks. If it's something set to happen in real-time like the others, then it can't be Anthony or Nate in the bodybag. Viewers are now speculating John will murder a villager, with one theory being he will kill Ella Forster who is targeting his future mother-in-law Chas Dingle.

Another theory was that Chas herself or Jacob Gallagher could be John's next victim in a serial killer twist. John didn't actually kill Anthony, Ruby Miligan did, but fans think he might have actually caused his death. Taking to X, one fan noted about a new promo image of the character: "Didn’t the flashforward show a body being thrown off a bridge and here he is stood on one.

We’ve all assumed it was Anthony or Nate but what if it’s someone else we haven’t seen yet." Another fan said: "He is definitely serial killer. Nate so far.

Poisoned Chas and I think Jacob next week," as a third wrote: "I saw someone on X say they think the body dumped in the flashforward has to be a future scene so can't be Nate or Anthony meaning someone else might die." A further comment read: "What if he kills Ella?????" Another fan speculated this same theory writing: "I think John is going to try to or actually kill Ella and she will be the one in the bodybag not Nate," as another commented: "I didn't think of Ella but could be a possibility!" It comes as Tracy Robinson actress Amy Walsh revealed Nate's body would soon be found and his death would be revealed onscreen to his unsuspecting family. With filming being around six to eight weeks before transmission, this means characters will likely find out onscreen about Nate's murder in just a matter of weeks – two months tops.

Speaking about what's ahead, Amy revealed: "I think it's gonna be so exciting. I've just actually started the beginning of that story now where she finds out, and it's brilliant because I love that the audience know and she doesn't, and they're just waiting for this pay off and waiting for her to find out who's done it. "It's been a long time coming, so long, and all this feeling that she's had that he's done badly to her, and finally poor Nate gets his.

.. justice.

" She went on: "It's such a journey for Tracy to take, I'm really excited, we just got some new scripts through that I've started reading and it's really juicy stuff for me and I've not had anything that big for a while." Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .
