Emmerdale seems to have revealed the real culprit behind Ella Forster's framing, and it's not who you'd expect. Since her 2024 debut, Ella (played by Paula Lane) has had quite a dramatic journey in the iconic village. Recently, she was accused of drugging Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) due to jealousy over her impending marriage to Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
The plot thickened when Liam and Chas' wedding was abruptly cancelled, appearing to be another cruel prank from Ella's alleged harassment campaign. After this incident, Liam promptly involved the police. But the situation escalated when the pub's window was broken.
Both Liam and Chas were convinced that Ella was responsible, oblivious to the fact that a bewildered Ella was observing their every move. In a desperate attempt to clear her name, Ella held Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) hostage to get a chance to speak with Liam. She then fled with Liam close behind.
This led to a tense confrontation in the woods where Ella pushed Liam, causing him to fall and lose consciousness. Luckily, Liam was unharmed and urged Ella to seek professional help, reports Leeds Live . Ella was arrested again, seemingly signalling her exit from Emmerdale.
However, fans are convinced that Ella is being framed - and they believe they know who's behind it. Emmerdale viewers are divided over who might be framing Ella, with some suspecting the enigmatic John Sugden (played by Oliver Farnworth), while others are convinced it's Liam, especially after fans spotted a "guilty" expression on his face. On an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook, one viewer speculated: "I'm still saying it's Liam that drugged Chas, he had that guilty look on his face at the end knowing what he's just done to Ella, setting her up!"" The theory gained traction among the soap's followers, with another adding: "Me too 100%.
" A third concurred: "My thoughts as well, I don't think it's John he's a red herring." Echoing the sentiment, another fan expressed: "Same I have a feeling it's Liam." Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.
