Emergency services shut road after suspected crash

Emergency services were called to a ‘serious incident’ on Halliwell Road in Bolton this evening, Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to an incident’ on Halliwell Road in Bolton this evening, Tuesday, which locals believe was a crash. The road was cordoned off at 6.30pm before being reopened at 8pm and there were several police cars at the scene.

It is believed that an ambulance was briefly on site earlier but left soon afterward. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for more information about the incident but it appears to have involved at least one car and a bike. Traffic was being diverted away from the area around Draycott Street and Stewart Street.

25pm: "The cordon is quite big and we are not being told anything. Police and ambulance were here 30 minutes ago and the ambulance has left, but the road remains taped off." A tow truck was seen removing a car just after 8pm when police lifted the official cordon.
