A person has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a height at a historic landmark prompting a large-scale emergency response.

A person has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a height at a historic landmark. Police, the air ambulance helicopter and paramedic crews were called to Dover Castle at about 1pm yesterday. It was reported that a person had fallen from a height at the attraction, which was closed to the public at the time.

The patient was airlifted to King’s College Hospital in London for treatment. Further details about the nature of the person’s injuries have not been released. An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We were called at about 1pm yesterday to reports that a person had fallen from height at Dover Castle.



“Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before being joined by the air ambulance who airlifted the patient to Kings College Hospital for further medical treatment.” A police spokesman added: “We were called to assist with a medical incident near Dover Castle shortly before 1pm yesterday.” English Heritage - which runs the landmark - has been contacted for further information.
