Ely Buendia confirms Marcus Adoro's absence from upcoming Eraserheads project

Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia has announced that guitarist Marcus Adoro will not be part of the band's upcoming project, following a wave of abuse allegations that recently resurfaced online. As proponents of justice, we unequivocally condemn all criminal acts and stand against abuse of any form. Above all, we seek the truth," Buendia said in a statement via his social media accounts on Sunday. "As Marcus makes time to address the matter at hand, he will be stepping back from the upcoming project. We move forward with humility and deep respect for the truth and social responsibility," he added. The announcement comes in the wake of a viral Reddit post from an anonymous user who accused Adoro of sexually assaulting her when she was still in high school. The post also pointed to previous public accusations, including those from actress Barbara Ruaro and Adoro's own daughter, Syd. It further criticized the media and entertainment industry for continuing to provide Adoro with a platform despite the serious nature of the allegations. Adoro, however, has yet to publicly respond as of posting. Eraserheads is currently preparing for their highly anticipated concert "Eraserheads: Electric Fun Music Festival" slated for May 31 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Pasay City. In March, the band premiered their documentary "Eraserheads: Combo on the Run," directed by Diane Ventura, giving fans an intimate look into their musical journey. They also embarked on a series of concerts overseas.
