Elon Musk-led X/Twitter platform introduced a dedicated video tab feature for the app with its beta release in the US. The move comes amid the restoration of TikTok US, as the Chinese app is facing threat of an imminent ban. Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of XCorp, shared the social media platform’s announcement, delighting avid users of X.
The “immersive new home for videos" is not for global users, as the feature is available only across the US of A. The Internet meanwhile dug out Elon Musk’s older tweet stating the proposal for a video tab feature that will not be an Instagram killer. However, the irony is not lost on the fact that every rival social media app is hopelessly mimicking each other and thus making it an experience very much paralleled and un-uniquely meh-smerizing.

But not everyone is convinced. “Who needs Tik Tok when you have Tix Tox?” jibed one. Another user asked, “When is the free speech tab arriving?” “Why not call it Vine and add more video editing support?” suggested one.
