ELIZABETHTON — Recent research by Carter County Archivist Teresa Treadway and her sister, Carter County Historian Lisa Germaine, has disproved the widely-held belief that the Henderson Folsom House was not on the National Registry of Historic Paces. Treadway’s discovery comes an opportune time because the house was damaged by Hurricane Helene flooding. The fact that the house is on the registry could make it eligible for some grants that would not normally be available to other buildings in need of repair.
