formerly of Brownsville Elizabeth “Liz” Stephania Laba Belliconish went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Liz was born March 6, 1951, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Yanecko Laba. In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Ronsky; and brother, John Daniel Laba.

She was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in West Brownsville. Liz gave generously of her time and talent to her church, where she was known for her famous nut rolls, paskas and soups. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Andy; her children, Elizabeth “Liz” Karbowsky (Dan), Andrew J.



Belliconish (Lisa), and Brian Belliconish (Ruthann); her grandchildren, Andrea, Nathan, Briana, Andrew, and Emily; and four great-grandchildren, Adelina, Emery, Fallon, and Amelia; her siblings, Charles Laba (Michelle), Anna Stump (Malen), Marie Holmes (David), and Darci Homa; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and family members; as well as her beloved pup, Kingston. Liz had worked at the Capuzzi Grocery Store in Republic, and was also a teacher’s aide for the Brownsville Area School District. Liz will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, in the GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 136 N.

Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown. Panikhida will begin at 7 p.m.

Viewing will continue in the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 110 Main Street, West Brownsville, from 9 to 10 a.m., the time of a funeral service, Tuesday, March 18.

Interment will follow at the Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in Liz’s name, to the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in West Brownsville..
