Birth: 1930 Death: 2024 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our precious mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Weiss. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on November 17th, she was 94 years old. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on October 6th, 1930; to Raymond and Bernadette (Haffner) Balmer, she spent her childhood in Fort Wayne and Toledo, Ohio, with siblings William “Bill” Balmer and Margaret “Marg” Loeffler and graduated from Central Catholic High School.

It was there she fell in love with her soon-to-be husband Paul Weiss, they were blessed with four children. Elizabeth and Paul eventually settled in Aptos in 1957, where she called home for the rest of her life. A dedicated housewife, she made her home a sanctuary filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering love.

Betty enjoyed games and puzzles but especially her music. Many times, there would be weekend gatherings with piano music and dancing when friends and members of the church would drop by. Along with keeping the family home, Elizabeth managed and assisted Dr.

Weiss’ office for many years. She became a devout parishioner and supporter of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Her kind spirit nurtured and shaped the lives of her children.

She was a loving and caring mother, whose love was a constant source of strength and support. Her gentle hands and kind spirit nurtured and shaped the lives of her children. Betty was the heart and soul of the home.

She is survived by her children Sandra M Lefebre, Judith A Weiss, and Brian L Weiss, four grandchildren (Cheri, Jenine, Christopher and Alisa), and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her dear son Keith Weiss in 2003 and her loving husband of 60 years in 2011. A memorial mass will be held in celebration of Elizabeth’s life on 11/30/2024 at 10:00am at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Capitola.
