Elisabeth Moss has connected the dots on The Handmaid's Tale staffer who requested to keep her custom underwear. In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at the season 6 premiere of the Hulu drama, the actress, 42, revealed that she figured out who asked for her character Offred's underwear after sharing the bizarre anecdote on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! . "I think it's so funny," she said of the now-viral story.
"Also, I know who it is, but I need him to [reveal himself]." Moss added that the mystery crew member revealed himself after seeing her interview on the late night show. "It's not bad. It's not as bad as we thought it was. He didn't actually specifically ask for my underwear, which is good.
So we're good guys." In late March, Moss first revealed that someone requested the underwear she wore on the show as a keep sake as the series wrapped production on its final season. "We had an email sent to all of the [executive producers] that was like a full list of all the props and costumes that we could take," she recalled.
"In a very mature way, I wrote back 'dibs,' and then proceeded to say everything I wanted." That was specially designed.
And someone told me that someone already asked for it." Host Jimmy Kimmel asked, "Wait a minute..
. This is your custom underwear that you wore and some creep on the staff requested it in writing? Like, 'I want Elisabeth's underpants. I'm going to take them home.
I'm going to put them in storage for a while.' " "Hopefully," Moss replied playfully, noting that keeping the personal item in storage would be "the best case scenario." She added that she didn't want to know who made the request, saying, "I have to work with these people.
I don't want to know who wants my underwear."
