Arch Manning is the latest in the long line of Manning family quarterbacks, and the Texas signal caller made his starting debut over the weekend. Manning was only 15-of-29 passing but hit for 258 yards and two touchdowns, though he did also toss a pair of interceptions. Overall, the Longhorns had no trouble dispatching of Louisiana Monroe, winning 51-3.

While that wasn't a bad showing for Arch in his first career collegiate start, it wasn't the best performance by a Manning in his starting debut. That honor goes to Eli, who threw for 271 yards and five touchdowns on 20-of-23 passing for Ole Miss in a win over Murray State on Sept. 1, 2001.

Shareif Ziyadat/Getty Images SEC Network shared a graphic on X/Twitter documenting the first start stats of Arch, Eli, Peyton and Archie, with Eli's clearly standing out. The two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback reacted in typical Eli fashion to the graphic. "I win!" he wrote.

I win! https://t.co/eziyNxsQAR Arch Manning is filling in for Quinn Ewers, who missed Saturday's game with an abdominal injury but returned to practice on Monday. "We'll see how he goes throughout the week and monitor how he responds to tomorrow coming off of today's practice," Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said of Ewers .

" ...

He’s got to do enough to show me he can play." The Longhorns are set to host Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon, a matchup they are heavily favored in. We should know more later in the week about whether it will be Manning or Ewers getting the starting nod against the Bulldogs.
