The Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr has been celebrated at Oxford Beaumont Care Community.

Oxford Beaumont Care Community in Boars Hill marked the occasion with festivities at the end of March. Eid al-Fitr, meaning the feast of the breaking of the fast, traditionally commences the day after the new crescent moon is sighted, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Islamic Hijri calendar. Staff from Oxford Beaumont prepared and served traditional Pakistani dishes to residents, family members, and colleagues.

The care home said: "The food tasting was highly successful with a great turn out of people. "Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and was in admiration of the traditional clothing staff were wearing throughout the day.".
