The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has vowed to investigate some of the results uploaded to its viewing portal, IREV. INEC who made this promise on Sunday in response to allegations of uploading controversial results to the viewing portal by some collation officers during the Edo State governorship election on Saturday. Sunday Telegraph had earlier reported that former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, on his X handle, alleged that two INEC staff, Remiloluwa Oluwajuwon and Obozuwa Josephine, uploaded result sheets that have more votes than accredited voters to the IREV.

Chidoka said, “Presiding Officer Remiloluwa Itiolu Oluwajuwon recorded 250 accredited voters and wrote 263, 11, 97, and 1 for various parties totaling 372 but did not write the total. “INEC, please advise all Collation Agents to check the BVAS before collating any result and comply with Section 51(2) of the Electoral Act 2022. “Where the number of votes cast at an election in any polling unit exceeds the number of accredited voters on the voters’ register in that polling unit, the Presiding Officer shall cancel the result of the election in that polling unit.
