Marie Morelli | [email protected] Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris are making their closing arguments as the presidential campaign heads into its final weeks. Harris went on Fox News, the pro-Trump cable news network, and faced tough questions — and many interruptions — from host Bret Baier.

In the editorial cartoon gallery’s lead image, Bill Bramhall emphasizes the point with a riff on the “My parents went to [insert vacation destination here] and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.” Joey Weatherford highlights Harris‘s attempt to distance herself from the Biden administration’s policies. Mike Luckovich sees Baier as a victim of his own “gotcha interview” tactics.

To Dana Summers, everything Harris said went back to her antipathy for Trump. Weatherford and Summers also reference the claim that CBS “60 Minutes” edited a Harris response to show her in a better light. Meanwhile, Trump appeared at town hall where, instead of taking questions from an audience of supporters, music played and the former president swayed with it.

In other media appearances, Trump suggested using the military to go after his political opponents, calling them “the enemy within.” Other news events in the editorial cartoon gallery include continuing efforts to provide relief to victims of hurricanes Helene and Milton amid disinformation about the federal government‘s intentions; Israel’s wars; and a scathing report highlighting deficiencies in the Secret Service. Cartoons were drawn by Jack Ohman, Nick Anderson, Bill Bramhall, Dana Summers, Drew Sheneman, Scott Stantis, Walt Handelsman, David Horsey, Phil Hands, Joel Pett and Joey Weatherford of Tribune Content Agency; and Mike Luckovich, Steve Breen and Michael Ramirez of Creators Syndicate.
