ED arrests masterminds behind UP Police and UPPSc exam paper leaks

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Lucknow arrested Ravi Attri and Subhash Prakash, the masterminds behind the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable and UPPSC RO/ARO exam paper leaks. They are accused of leaking papers to candidates and generating significant illegal proceeds. The ED has been granted custody for further investigation.

Representative photo LUCKNOW: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Lucknow, has arrested Ravi Attri and Subhash Prakash, the masterminds behind the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Exam Paper Leak and the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) RO/ARO Exam Paper Leak case, on Tuesday. The ED took custody of the two individuals following an order from the Special Court (PMLA), Lucknow, which granted the ED custody of the accused. Justice Neel Kanth Mani Tripathi has granted a seven-day custody of Subhash and Ravi to the ED.

The ED had initiated an investigation based on FIRs registered by the UP Police under various sections of the IPC, 1860, the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act, 1998, and the Information Technology Act, 2000, pertaining to the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam Paper Leak and the UPPSC RO/ARO Exam Paper Leak. The ED's investigation revealed that Ravi Attri and Subhash Prakash, with the assistance of their associates, leaked question papers for the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2023 and the RO/ARO Exam 2023. They generated proceeds of crime by providing leaked question papers to exam aspirants before the scheduled exam dates.



Arrangements were made for candidates to gather at resorts in Manesar, Haryana, and in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Significant credits and cash deposits were observed in the bank accounts of the accused, both after the release of the exam notifications and leading up to and after the exam dates. Earlier, assets including plots, apartments, bank accounts, and automobiles, amounting to Rs.
