GP surgeries will not be open from Friday, April 18, to Monday, April 21, meaning prescriptions cannot be collected at short notice. Sati Ubhi, the chief pharmacist at NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICB, said: "Plan ahead for this long bank holiday weekend by checking now if you have enough medication to last and requesting more if needed. "Ordering, dispensing, and collecting prescriptions can take several days, so it’s best to order in plenty of time before the Easter weekend.
" She added that running out of medication over the bank holiday weekend could be "very stressful" for those without enough supplies. The NHS added that ordering repeat prescriptions can be done online, through the NHS app, or by contacting your local GP practice. The NHS app can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play Store and allows you to find your nearest pharmacy.
People who do not have access to the internet can contact their GP to request their repeat prescription..
