Earthbound Beer, the proudly quirky craft brewery at 2724 Cherokee Street in Gravois Park, will close in December, its owners announced Monday. The final day of service in Earthbound’s taproom will be Dec. 8.

The brewery will also cease distribution during the year’s fourth quarter, the announcement said . “We opened with very little capital and the idea that we would run Earthbound as an experiment in nanobrewing, a relatively new concept in 2014,” co-founder and president of beer Stuart Keating said in a statement. “The experiment has run its course, after ten years we re-assessed and decided we wanted to do different things.

” Earthbound debuted in November 2014 in a small space at 2710 Cherokee. It relocated to its current, much larger home in 2017. “We are very proud of the work we have done, and we are honored to have been a part of so many people’s lives,” co-founder Jeff Siddons said in a statement.

“We love Cherokee Street and we are supremely jazzed that we were able to renovate a piece of St Louis brewing history and show it to people from around the world.” Earthbound will follow its regular hours through the Dec. 8 closing date.
