A town centre tree has collapsed causing damage to the pavement outside a Costa Coffee and other shops. The tree has been a regular fixture of The Parade, Swindon , for over 40 years but is now gone. It is believed to have collapsed at around 4am on October 28, with the tree ripping up the surrounding paving as it uprooted.

A council spokesperson said: “It was an early start for the team this morning as they dealt with a fallen tree in the town centre. (Image: SBC) “The tree outside Costa Coffee on The Parade fell down at around 4am.
“The team are now working hard to clear up the tree and make sure the area is safe.
