Early Voting off to strong start in Hamblen County

Early voting is under way in Tennessee and the turnout - though the first three days - in Hamblen County - has been strong.

Early voting is under way in Tennessee and the turnout - though the first three days - in Hamblen County - has been strong. On Oct. 16, a total of 1,931 voters cast a ballot for the first day of early voting.

That number was down slightly from the 2020 election when 2,091 voters cast a ballot but up significantly over 2016 when 1238 votes were cast. On the 17th, another 1,611 voters submitted antheir ballot and on Friday, 1374 Hamblen Countians voted. Through three days, 4,916 ballots have been cast this year.



In 2020, 4,314 votes were placed through three days. In 2016, that total was 3,396. Early voting runs through Oct.

“We are expecting a robust turnout across Tennessee, and early voting provides a convenient and flexible way to cast their ballot.” Tennesseans voting early or on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification to the polls. A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, by the Tennessee state government, or by the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired.
