Ruth Langsford was never shy about her wild bedroom antics with Eamonn Holmes. The showbiz couple were married for 14 years before they announced the shock news they were getting a divorce in May. While Loose Women panellist Ruth has been focusing on work, GB News host Eamonn has moved on with his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 42.
Ruth and Eamonn, both 64, spent much of their time in front of the cameras, hosting This Morning together for over a decade, and were very open about the highs and lows of their romance - even dishing details about their chemistry behind closed doors. Months before their marriage crumbled, Ruth shocked the Loose Women panel when she revealed what Eamonn did when he wanted to have sex. While her fellow panellists - Frankie Bridge, Carol McGiffin, and Kéllé Bryan - all agreed a sex ban wouldn't work in their relationships, Ruth admitted there is one thing Eamonn would do to ensure he gets some saucy time.
She said: "You can have all the compliments and the flowers but then, if Eamonn comes home and has used my car and he goes, 'Filled the petrol up and did your water bottle', I'm like, 'Get upstairs right now'." As the studio audience burst into fits of laughter, Ruth continued: "I hate doing it. Literally, I'll go round with my petrol light on red, the water bottle empty, smeared [windscreen].
"I'm like, 'Oh I can't stop and do that', so he'll do it for me and he knows, he knows." She added with a smirk: "Everyone's got their little trick." But sadly for the couple, their private life came to an end shortly after following months of speculation surrounding their relationship.
After a series of rows, coupled with no appearances together, many wondered if Ruth and Eamonn had secretly split. They confirmed their split through a representative, who said: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing." A bitter custody battle is said to have broken out between the pair over who gets to keep their beloved dog, Maggie.
A source previously told The Sun: "Maggie is like a daughter to them. They dote on her. But she's getting on and they know she needs stability.
It's a case of who can give her that. Eamonn adores her and Maggie's been such a support during his health woes. The thought of giving her up is heartbreaking to him.
But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split." Speaking about their separation at the time, a source told MailOnline : "It's a very sorry tale. They are both so loved by the British public, they won over so many people on This Morning which they hosted for more than a decade.
" They added: "They were as close to Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan as you could get."
